The NDIS Accommodation/Tenancy provides and assists Participants with housing and tenancy services, NDIS housing investment, renting in the private rental market, public housing, and community housing options. NDIS brings amazing opportunities to navigate your life towards independence, helping you to achieve your daily and long-term goals that were not possible before NDIS. At Extra Helping Hand PTY LTD we can:

• Redefine or develop your housing goals,
• Identify and implement strategies to maintain current tenancies,
• Explore alternative housing options,
• Assist with private rental applications,
• Assist with Budgeting,
• Support you to obtain essential household items,
• Find an affordable, safe, and appropriate accommodation

This includes short and long-term supports that focus on strengthening the participant’s ability to coordinate their supports, and to assist them to live at home and participate in their community. As well as:

• support connection
• coordination of supports
• assistance with accommodation and tenancy obligations
• Life transition planning including mentoring, peer support and individual skill development
• assistance with decision making and daily planning

Involves assistance within, but not limited to, the client’s home. This includes:

• Overnight support
• Supervision of personal tasks for skills development
• Participating basic housework and garden maintenance.

At Extra Helping Hand PTY LTD we will support and aim at providing assistance with daily personal activities, to enable participants to perform daily tasks comfortably. Assist and supervise participants with routine tasks including, but not limited to, personal and oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming and bowel management.

Our goal is to provide travel and transport services to people with disabilities. Assistance with travel and transport including supports that enable participants to build capacity to independently travel, including through personal transport-related aids and equipment, or training to use public transport.

A participant’s transport supports may also include the reasonable and necessary costs of taxis or other private transport options for participants who are not able to travel independently, as well as the transport to and from school for students.

Our focus in this support category is to deliver assistance with Daily Tasks/Shared Living emphasising on developing and enhancing domestic skills that allow clients to live autonomously. We can also help you within shared living such as units or host family arrangement. As well as:

• One-to-one assistance with a carer
• Assisting with daily tasks for independent living
• Support for self-care, accommodation, and activities within a residency
• Providing short-term residency
• Arrange residency for transitioning to live independently

Innovative Community Participation to Extra Helping Hand PTY LTD means providing our participants with the skills to build relationships and participate within their community. Our support workers will tailor and implement a capacity-building, community-based approach to assist individuals to reach their goals and get the most out of the service. We aim at individuals to feel connected, supported and confident through the program. The end goal is for our participants to build resilience, improve their mental well-being and to gain independence. Through their personal growth process, our participants may transition away from our services to informal supports and/or employment. Our services also include:

• Gaining new skills or building on your existing skill base to give you more independence.
• Self-awareness and self-care
• Awareness of social norms and expectations
• Confidence and social skills to partake in community activities
• Working towards achieving personal interests, skill sets and passions
• Mentoring to overcome challenges and obstacles
• Career pathway preparation, support to access training and employment opportunities
• Making personal connections and building social networks

We focus on training the client to develop skills that can increase their ability to live independently, as well as participating in community

Our approach with the Early childhood support is to allow families and carers of children under seven who have developmental concerns, developmental delay, or disability to access timely, targeted and individualised early childhood support for their child. Early supports may include access to information, direct provision of early intervention strategies, family-based education and parenting support and linkages to community and mainstream services. Early childhood intervention for us is all about giving children with developmental delay or disability, and their families, supports to enable the child to have the best possible start in life. At Extra Helping Hand PTY LTD we aim at early childhood intervention, where infants and young children as well as their families, can get specialised supports and services. Whether your child needs short-term early intervention or long-term support, we can partner with you to support your child’s development, participation and quality of life. Our services aim to promote the:

• child’s development.
• family and child’s wellbeing
• child taking part in their community
• positive behaviour support

In these support items we help enable participants to maintain their home environment. This may involve undertaking essential household tasks that the participant is not able to undertake such as cleaning, gardening, or meal preparation. For our clients who may not be able to do household chores alone or who may need extra supervision, when performing:

• Garden maintenance.
• Cleaning, drying and washing
• Preparing and planning meals
• Grocery shopping

Preparation of Meals - This support item is for assistance with the cost of the preparation and delivery of food to participants who are unable to do this for themselves and are not in receipt of other supports that would meet the same need. This may include assistance with grocery shopping. The cost of the food itself is not covered by the NDIS or Extra Helping Hand PTY LTD.

House Cleaning and Other Household Activities - Performing essential house cleaning activities that the participant is not able to undertake.

House or Yard Maintenance - Performing essential house and/or yard activities that the participant is not able to undertake.

Under Assistance with Social and Community Participation, We at Extra Helping Hand PTY LTD we can provide a support worker to support you to:

• attend personal development courses
• join a social group
• take an outing or a holiday
• go on a holiday camp
• visit your local library
• see a movie or a concert
• go to community events, and/or
• join a sporting club.

We at Extra Helping Hand PTY LTD assist participants to participate in group- based community, social and recreational activities.

This service includes but not limited to activities such as:

• Recreational activities – bowling, dancing, art and craft,
• Community access – library, music works, events and museum,
• take an outing or a holiday
• Life skills development – shopping, cooking, gardening and household tasks.
• Camping
• Art or drama classes
• Sporting events
• Or a trip to the movies or galley
• Day programs
• Sporting events

Therapeutic Supports" encompass a broad range of interventions, tools, and strategies designed to promote healing, rehabilitation, and well-being across various physical, emotional, and psychological conditions. These supports are tailored to address the specific needs of individuals seeking relief from ailments, injuries, or mental health challenges. In the realm of physical therapy, therapeutic supports may include braces, splints, or orthotic devices that aid in mobility, stability, or alignment.

Additionally, therapeutic exercises and techniques such as massage therapy, hydrotherapy, and electrotherapy play crucial roles in restoring strength, flexibility, and function to injured or weakened body parts. Beyond physical healing, therapeutic supports extend to mental health and emotional well-being, encompassing counseling, psychotherapy, and support groups. These interventions provide individuals with the necessary tools and guidance to navigate through emotional distress, trauma, or mental health disorders.
